MacKenzie Scott, a very wealthy ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, remarried. The new husband responds to the name of Dan Jewett, and was his children’s chemistry teacher at Lakeside School in Seattle. The announcement was made by himself inside one open letter published Saturday on The Giving Pledge website, an initiative launched in 2010 by Warren Buffett and the Gates spouses to encourage billionaires around the world to donate half of their assets to charitable causes: I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know – wrote the man, who according to the first rumors would be between 45 and 50 years old – and I join you in the commitment to transfer enormous financial wealth to serve others.

Super private wedding
Nothing is therefore known of their marriage, which evidently took place in maximum confidentiality: neither where nor when it was celebrated. Also unknown for how long the two have been together, but it certainly must not have been a particularly long engagement. Scott, 51 years old in a month, officially divorced Bezos in July 2019: just over a year and a half ago. On the occasion she was assigned the 4% of Amazon shares, for a total value of about 37 billion dollars. Today, however, second Bloomberg e Forbes his personal assets would grow to 53 billion dollars, confirming her among the richest women in the world. His philanthropic commitment is intense: in 2020 alone it is estimated that he donated 5.8 billion dollars to various charities.
