The new Ford Tourneo Connect debuted a few minutes ago on the Internet, before making its official debut at the brand’s offices in Europe early next year. Ford’s well-known passenger van relies on a completely changed look and a lot of similarities with Volkswagen’s Caddy, introduced almost two years ago.
This is hardly surprising for someone since the two cars share almost everything in their mechanics with differences only in the vision in the front. There we can find the only intervention of Ford designers, who have integrated a large front grille, typical of the brand, as well as new lights with LED daytime running lights.
–Depending on the equipment – Sport, Titanium, Trend or Active, there are also small differences in the bumpers, fender arches and wheels with some additional plastic elements for off-road or more sporty appearance.

The interior is also similar to that of Volkswagen, and Ford has even kept the infotainment system of the Germans, which means that here will not rely on the well-known SYNC system. The 10.25-inch digital mileage is also optional as with Volkswagen.

As you can probably guess, under the hood the situation is not much different from that of the other components of the new Tourneo, and there we can also distinguish the engines of Volkswagen. The only petrol variant relies on a 1.5-liter engine with 115 horsepower, while a 2.0-liter diesel allows for 102 or 122 horsepower. In the more powerful version with a mechanical transmission there is a possibility to drive all four wheels, while in the others the transmission is front and the transmission is mechanical or automatic.
