This weekend the Christmas season begins in the cinemas.

“A BOY NAME CHRISTMAS” by Gil Kenan with Henry Lawful as the young Santa Claus, Maggie Smith (McGonagall from “Harry Potter”), Kirsten Wiig (“Bridal Alert”), Sally Hawkins (“Shape of Water”), James Broadbent (Horace Slughorn in “Harry Potter” ) and many others.
This very exciting and well-made film tells the story of the beginning of Santa Claus, just as (supposedly) everything began:
Little Niklas (Henry Lawful) lives in Finland with his father Joel (Michiel Huisman) in poor circumstances. One day the king promises a high reward for those who bring hope for humanity from the far north. At first the father sets out on his own, but when he does not return, the son follows him.
He is accompanied by a talking mouse and his reindeer is Blitzen. You will find the enchanted village of Wichtelgrund near the Arctic Circle.
At the same time told in this day and age an old woman (Maggie Smith) three orphans exactly this story as a fairy tale and soon yesterday and today overlap.
Conclusion: For the whole family, especially for the little ones from 5 years.

“HARRY POTTER” celebrates 20th anniversary. For this event, all the films in the Adventure series will be shown in the cinema again, even in 3D. Long live Hogvarts!

„GHOSTBUSTERS: LEGACY“ by Jason Reitman (“Juno”, “Up in the Air”) with Paul Ruud (Ant-Man in “Avengers”), Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard.
It’s of course about the old and famous “Ghodtbusters” films of the 80swhich were box office hits at the time, also because of their musical hits.
In the new movie, 40 years later, the single mother Callie (Carrie Coon) comes to the old house of her deceased father with her children, 16-year-old Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and 12-year-old Phoebe (McKenna Grace).
In this completely dilapidated property you will find old instruments that you cannot explain at first.
But their teacher Mr. Grooberson (Paul Ruud) thinks they could belong to the former Ghostbusters, as their grandfather must have been one of the legendary ghost hunters.
Wouldn’t that be exciting enough Strange things soon happen in the small town, so that Trevor and Phoebe are soon forced to get their grandfather’s old equipment back into operation, including the old Cadillac Break Ecto-1 from 1959.
Conclusion: Perfectly staged fantasy story with a lot of humor and tension.
For the whole family with children from 10 years.

„JFK REVISITED“ by Oliver Stone. This semi-documentary film, exactly 30 years after Oliver Stone’s “John F. Kennedy – Dallas crime scene” is a new and advanced analysis of what is perhaps the greatest murder of the 20th century.
My generation can still remember when on November 22, 1963 at 12:30 p.m. local time in Dallas, three shots were fired at John F. Kennedy and the American president collapsed dead in the back seat of his car.
The circumstances of his death have never been fully clarified to this day. A corresponding number of conspiracy theories are circulating, similar to the alleged suicide of Marilyn Monroe in 1962.
Oliver Stone wants to bring light into the darkness here, However, he does not find a convincing solution either.
But he has created an extremely exciting documentary with it. With a lot of time coloring.
Conclusion: For all Kennedy fans and conspiracy theorists old (and new).
But also for people of a younger generation who would like to get an insight into the time of the USA in the 60s, with the Cuba crisis, the Cold War, the race riots and the uprisings of the black population against the oppression by the white majority in the UNITED STATES.
Worth seeing!

„EIFFEL IN LOVE“ by Martin Bourboulon with Romain Duris (“L’Auberge espangnole”), Emma Mackey (“Sex Education” on Netflix) and Pierre Deladonchamps (“Madame Claude”).
“Eiffel in Love” is a typical film about a historically significant event that actually took place and is now being told anew, enriched with fictional personal fates.
Here it is the (fictitious) passionate relationship between Gustaf Eiffel (Romain Duris) and his former great love Adrienne (Emma Mackey), which is said to have inspired him to build the Eiffel Tower …
Conclusion: For all fans of Paris in particular and the French way of life in general. A bit cheesy, but it goes with the time of year.
And beautiful pictures.
