The new Ferrari Purosangue, the first SUV from Maranello, was accidentally unveiled right on the production line

Ever since Ferrari announced that it would build the first SUV in the brand’s history, all the prototypes seen so far have been camouflaged. Now, however, two images have appeared on the Internet of what appears to be a pre-series version of the future Thoroughbred, caught right on the assembly line of the Maranello plant. The photos quickly went viral on social media.

More than three years ago, the Italian carmaker announced that it would build the first SUV in Ferrari history. Not long ago, the name that the model will receive was made public, namely Purosangue (nn – pure blood, in free translation).

In these images you can see the exterior design of the SUV. The front takes some details from SF90 Stradale model such as two-section headlights. Unlike other Ferrari models, the Thoroughbred has a grille mounted on the bottom of the bumper. It is flanked by two huge air intakes.

There are also plastic protections at the wheel arches and at the bottom of the body. At the back are the air diffuser and the quadruple exhaust. The taillights also appear to be borrowed from the 296 GTB.

Although nothing official, the future Ferrari Thoroughbred could receive a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It is the same one under the hood of SF90 Stradale. In this case, the unit generates 780 hp and 800 Nm of torque, but it is unlikely that the new SUV will offer the same baggage of resources.

The latest information circulating in the industry refers to a system consisting of a gas station and two electric motors. A version equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V12 engine is also expected. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

Taking into account these photos, the future Ferrari Purosangue SUV will enter series production very soon. Deliveries are set to begin next year.
