The beginning of a new season in the Beach Soccer League (LFP) reveals the potential of the new teams and their figures from the first day. That was the case of Rancho Viejo, in the women’s team, which although it did not win in its debut against San Sebastián, another of the newcomers, brought to light the talent of Irma Membreño.
The wearer of Rancho Viejo’s number seven was responsible not only for being the leader on the field, but also for contributing four goals in her first LFP match.
In that sense, just as individual figures emerge, others are consolidated by defending the colors of a new team, as did the selected Laura Varela, former member of El Espino, by scoring four goals now that she defends the colors of Puerto El Triunfo.
For Irma, the game was an opportunity to demonstrate the good work that the coaching staff has done with this group to face this competition.
“We fought to obtain the victory, we were not given the victory but we are going to continue working to improve our performance. For my part, I contributed goals and I hope to continue doing so in the next matches,” said Membreño.
Regarding the debut in the LFP, the niece of the former national team Roberto Membreño, indicated that being part of this competition is a dream come true.
“This year we finally achieved being in the LFP, since last year we dreamed of participating. My uncle advises us to continue training hard to be competitive in the league. In my case, I would like to be on the national team,” said Irma.
Meanwhile, Laura Valera, national team and scorer for the Puerto El Triunfo team, made it clear that the match against the Migueleñas became complicated.
“This first match was tough against Chirilagua, some moments of the match were difficult for us but thank God we managed to obtain the victory. We have to improve some things,” said the player.
For Varela, after two years of playing for his local team, now playing for another is important to not stop competing.
“It gives me joy to be able to score again, this is a new beginning with this team, since the El Espino team, in which we played, was not registered for this tournament. We are going to the place to make history with this group,” said Laura.
The new teams in this new women’s branch this season are Chirilagua, Rancho Viejo, La Pirraya, San Sebastián, Joya Grande, San Salvador.
