New settings are coming to disable response notifications or change their tone. These settings can be managed by the user.
Users will be able to react to incoming messages or group notifications with emojis placed on them. However, these responses will not be anonymous. In other words, the user on the other side will be able to see who the reaction came from. In addition, these reactions can be sent as notifications. The user will be able to choose whether or not to receive emojis as notifications.
This reactions feature was already available in Facebook Messenger and Instagram Messages.
The feature can be managed from the Response Notifications section on the Settings page.
If the feature, currently in testing, is approved WhatsAppIt will be available to everyone with the new version of .
If this feature is included in the new version, it will be active by default, and if desired, it can be disabled from the reaction notifications section under Settings.
