The new European policies for developing skills will be discussed at a round table in Burgas – 2024-08-15 13:52:03

/ world today news/ A round table on the topic “The new European skills program – opportunities and challenges at the national and regional level” will be held this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the cultural center “Morsko Casino” in Burgas. The host of the event is MEP Momchil Nekov, rapporteur in the European Parliament on the New European Skills Programme.

Changes in the secondary and higher education sector are imperative in order to achieve synergy between the real needs of business and the realization of quality and growth. The thematic orientation of the round table is related to the transformations in Europe in social and economic terms, the imposition of new professions related to the need for new skills to achieve intelligent and sustainable growth.

“Modernization and effective implementation of the lifelong learning policy are key to achieving digitization and rapid adoption of new technologies. They provide new opportunities, but at the same time they also bring a number of challenges to the holders of professional knowledge, skills and competences and those who carry out the preparation for them. The purpose of the round table is to put these topics within the scope of public interest and to hear the expert assessment of specialists in the field,” commented Momchil Nekov about the event.

Guest speakers and participants in the discussion on the topic will be: Ana Maria Nogieira, expert on education policy in the Committee on Education and Culture of the EP; Stephen Bendbridge, Skills and Labor Market Policies at the European Center for the Development of Vocational Training; Violeta Ilieva, head of the MES of the Ministry of Education and Culture – Burgas; Penka Ganova, professional education and training expert; Yanka Takeva, Union of Bulgarian Teachers; Prof. Anelia Klisarova, deputy. Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education in the National Assembly; Yulian Petrov, Teachers’ Union “Support”. Moderators of the event will be Assoc. Marusia Lyubcheva and Mrs. Krasimira Brozig from NAPOO.
