The brand new emergency room at the Sainte-Anne-des-Monts hospital will be accessible to patients in the summer of 2023.
Since last June, hospital users have realized that now they have to go to the fifth floor to access the emergency room. This temporary redevelopment will allow for the renovation of the new emergency room, which will be more intuitive and practical, for both patients and healthcare professionals.
The current configuration of the ER has involved numerous shifts between the triage, the waiting room and the examination rooms, as well as offering little privacy to patients. The intensive care unit is also the subject of this work.
For several years, the employees of the Hôpital des Monts have wanted to redevelop this section of the health facility. The clinical team also managed to persuade the then Minister of Health, Danielle McCann, to take the project forward, during her visit to Sainte-Anne-des-Monts in 2019. The minister then confirmed, on the spot , that this file should progress rapidly.
