Stellaris has become a typical Paradox Interactive game, with additional content being regularly released. Sometimes the quality of DLC does not please fans
Stellaris Astral Planes was recently released on Steam. Paradox Interactive outraged many players, the DLC received devastating reviews.
Currently, Stellaris Astral Planes has over 70% negative reviews. There are several reasons for dissatisfaction. Content a bit (according to the feelings of a noticeable part of the players), some believe that sometimes other developers release as much as a free update.
Also expressed opinion, that in fact Stellaris Astral Planes is the old DLC Ancient Relics Story Pack in a new wrapper, i.e. They don’t really offer anything new (although there are still some remarkable things).
For example, lolqeeeeee got acquainted with the DLC and said the following opinionnoticing some positive points:
«“Learning something new through the mechanics of the old.” This is exactly what can be said about this addition.
This addition adds a new object to the galaxy – rifts, distortions through the threads of time and space. Sure, it’s very cool that they added them, but there’s only one thing that bothers me…
Formally, this is still the same system of archaeological excavations. And personally, I’m already tired of observing this system, whether in espionage, during first contact, or during excavations….
Regarding Astral actions (maybe I said it wrong, I don’t remember exactly), then there are no complaints about them, the same relics, but only for a certain resource and through other conditions of receipt. New resource – new opportunities, new interactions. I especially liked the fact that now wormholes and L-gates can be closed from outsiders.
In my personal opinion, the add-on is not worth its 710 rubles for a portion of new text and completely new mechanics in the form of a lock for the gate (the only thing I really liked and which was, to some extent, missing). To take it or not is purely your opinion and decision. I just expressed my opinion».
