The graphic concept works with a new design language, which the carmaker revealed at its annual presentation.

At its annual press conference, Škoda Auto mentioned that it plans to offer three more purely electric models by 2030, which should be more affordable than the Enyaq IV. One of these models should be the city’s electric SUV, which the carmaker has partially revealed on one graphic.

Although the car on the first official graphics is blurred, it is still clear that the carmaker has opted for a new design language when designing it, which is even more so with sharper features. This design language is called Modern Solid and the carmaker promises an even more dynamic and modern image from it.

The carmaker promised us that we will learn more about the future of the Škoda brand in the spirit of Modern Solid this year, colleagues from TopElectricSUV however, it did not want to wait. Therefore, they used the masked car as the basis for their own graphic concept of the Škoda city electric SUV, which you can view in the gallery.
Following the example of official graphics, the design concept works with sharp shapes and a slightly box-like silhouette. In front we see an upright mask, which is followed by aggressively shaped headlights, complemented by a vertical LED strip on the sides. The front bumper combines black plastic with lacquered decor, which is supposed to enhance the combination of adventurous and stylish appearance.

The A-pillars are visibly chamfered, at the back we see a sharply cut line of glazing. The designers placed cast wheels with aerodynamic fillings in the wheel arches, the sills are again covered with black plastic, and a spoiler extending the roof line attracts attention at the rear. A little lower we can see a part of the rear headlight, reaching into the fender, or the plastic bumper of the rear bumper.
The designers also equipped the concept with modern aerodynamic elements, such as fully digital mirrors and handles recessed into the body, but these elements of the equipment will most likely be replaced in the production car by classic mirrors and handles. After all, we are still talking about a model that should be more affordable than Enyaq.

The basis of the city’s electric SUV will almost certainly be the MEB electric platform, which will allow the carmaker to work with various combinations of batteries and electric motors. According to TopElectricSUV, the carmaker could bet, for example, on the ID.3 platform, equip the car with an electric motor driving the front wheels and a battery with a capacity of about 57 kWh, which could ensure a range of up to 400 km.
So far, we are having a lot of speculation, but this year we could find out how close we have been to the truth. One of the interesting opportunities to present at least the concept of the new car could be the Paris Motor Show, which will take place in mid-October. However, we would probably not be surprised if the carmaker came up with its own event for the performance – even online. The start of production of the Škoda city electric SUV is then expected by 2025.
