The new colors of the regions, from today

From today, Monday 14 June, they pass in the white zone Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Lazio, Piedmont, Puglia and the autonomous province of Trento, where a weekly incidence of coronavirus infections of less than 50 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants was recorded for three consecutive weeks. In addition to the regions that were already “white”: only Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Marche, Sicily, Tuscany, Valle d’Aosta and the autonomous province of Bolzano remain in the yellow zone.

In the last week all regions have had an impact of new cases below the threshold of 50 weekly infections per 100 thousand inhabitants, but to pass into the white zone it is necessary that these data be confirmed for three consecutive weeks. If this trend is confirmed next week, from 21 June all the Italian regions will be in the white zone except Valle d’Aosta, which two weeks ago had been the only region to cross the threshold.

Even in the last week, the province with the highest incidence was Catania, which however recorded a decline in this indicator: it went from 83 to 63 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The other provinces with at least 50 weekly cases per 100 thousand inhabitants are Enna, in Sicily, Brindisi in Puglia, Grosseto in Tuscany and Sondrio in Lombardy.

What can be done in the white zone
The main difference between the regions in the white zone and those in the yellow zone is that in the former, part of the restrictions in place to combat the coronavirus are not valid. The prohibition of gathering, the obligation of interpersonal distancing and the mandatory use of the mask in public places indoors and even outdoors, in the event that physical distance cannot be maintained, remain in force.

There is no curfew in the regions in the white zone, which is currently in effect in the yellow zones from midnight to 5 am and will be eliminated completely from June 21st. Game rooms and indoor swimming pools can reopen, as well as theme and amusement parks, and fairs, weddings and other ceremonies can also be held, which in the yellow zone will still be allowed from Tuesday 15 June.
