Electricity, gas, heating, utilities – everything has become more expensive. After the shock of many December bills, most people are looking forward to living in January. While these calculations are still “rounding off”, “Delfi” asked the members of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Prime Minister to look at the bills of their residence and comment on what is in them. Out of all 14 ministers, only Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs (JV) did not respond – explaining that he does not provide private information.
Absolutely all ministers unanimously acknowledged that the rising cost of living was being felt by themselves. Most government officials emphasize the benefits new decision on aid measures different groups of the population, but both local and international experts predictthat the cost of services will continue to grow in the next heating season. Life will not get cheaper, it is clear.
The Minister of Economy operates the dishwasher at night
Minister of Economics Jānis Vitenbergs (National Association) lives in a private house. The house has a fully automated heating system, which reduces heat to a minimum at night. The gas heating bill was 85 euros last November, but jumped to 240 euros in December. He paid 80 euros for electricity in December.
