the new CEO reveals his priorities

Appointed on June 26, the new Managing Director of Eneo Cameroon has already taken office. Amine Homman Ludiye was officially installed on June 29. He immediately published his roadmap. His urgent files, he says, take into account the current context of the electricity sector. These include a difficult financial situation, a tense social climate and the purchase envisaged by the State of the shares of Actis, the majority shareholder of Eneo. In this new geography of capital, the new CEO announces that he will give priority to the situation of the actions of the staff carried out by Gic -P ENEO. The latter represents 5% of the capital of the company. But the staff has never received a dividend since 2017, when it became a shareholder. “It is time to provide answers to the question of the GIC-P ENEO. The Board of Directors asked me to make proposals to ensure the financial viability of the GIC, and the respect of its commitments vis-à-vis its members. I will work with the representatives of the GIC in this direction. This is one of my priorities”, declares the new CEO.

The other priority of the Moroccan is obviously the financial situation of the company. State debt vis-à-vis the electricity sector is a major challenge. ” The priority remains the improvement of our cash flow and our financial capacity, by collection, redefining Capex priorities and mobilizing the necessary financing. I will work with the DFI and commercial teams to accelerate this movement. The survival of our business depends on it. “, promises Amine Homman Ludiye.

Security and social climate

« Today, we still die when we work at Eneo or for Eneo. It’s not acceptable “Laments the DG. Indeed, several Eneo agents and even its partners constantly lose their lives during interventions. Two months ago, an agent was electrocuted in the PK13 district in the city of Douala, affecting team morale and limiting field interventions. The DG stresses the need to strengthen security measures. Faced with the tense social climate within the company, Amine Homman also unveiled his plan. He promises to improve health insurance coverage and respect for the principle of regional balance in promotions. “ We will ensure that this balance is maintained and promoted within the company, because this diversity is a strength and an asset for Eneo. We will check with Human Resources that our procedures guarantee respect for this diversity “. It is also committed to accelerating the application of the new collective agreement adopted last year as well as certain human resource development programs.

Given the weight of the files, the task will not be easy. Amine Homman seems well aware of the challenges ahead. ” I accepted this mission with pride and humility. The mission is exhilarating, but the task is difficult and the challenges are many he acknowledges.
