The driver is the center of attention in the powertrain’s interior, so the most important controls are grouped around the steering wheel of the Porsche Driver Experience. It creates a new, even richer driving experience for the driver.
The luxurious interior uses elements of the “Taycan” electric sports car, which were transferred for the first time to a “Porsche” model with an internal combustion engine. The automatic transmission shift lever is located on the dashboard. Now the center console of the new dashboard design has a place for the air conditioning control system. This ensures that the air conditioning system can be set up quickly and intuitively.
New and interactive “Cayenne” salon
The driver and passengers in the new “Porsche Cayenne” can enjoy a completely new interior design. It combines an even more pronounced focus on the driver of the vehicle with new interactive elements that improve the driving experience for the front passenger as well.
The additional equipment of the Porsche Cayenne includes an integrated 10.9-inch display on the passenger side. Its special coating ensures that the information on the screen is not visible from the driver’s side without distracting his attention from the road.
The instrument panel is now a fully digital 12.6-inch curved display. As before, the driver can control many driving and comfort-related functions, as well as standard online navigation and multimedia functions.
Depending on the equipment level, the driver can customize the instrument panel in up to seven different layouts. The driver can choose to have the tachometer, online navigation, “Night Vision Assist” or the 3D driving assistant system in the foreground of the dashboard. There is also a significantly reduced view of the driving elements, as well as a classic mode that brings the usual Porsche instrument panel design into the digital age.
The new multifunctional sports steering wheel is borrowed from the “911” and is more stylish than the previous model. Now, a driving mode switch is available as standard on the car’s steering wheel, which allows you to choose between “Normal”, “Offroad”, “Sport” and “Sport Plus” modes. The new toggle button for selecting functions and designs in the instrument panel is also located directly on the steering wheel, as is the control button for the optional head-up display.
Sporty yet luxurious atmosphere and optimal cabin climate
“Porsche Cayenne” is the sportiest car in its segment – this is also reflected in its interior. A sporty atmosphere is combined with dynamic functionality, luxurious comfort with typical Cayenne design features.
The new vehicle has an innovative system that sets automotive standards for air quality. Standard features include a cabin air filter and a GPS recirculation function that uses navigation data to automatically activate air recirculation when the car is about to enter a tunnel. This prevents odors and exhaust gases from entering the car, which can accumulate in the tunnel. When route guidance is activated, the system works predictively and is particularly efficient. For the first time, “Porsche” has developed all the air ventilation hatches in the cabin without grilles.
The fine dust sensor is also available as an optional extra, which continuously measures the air quality, determining the level of fine dust particles in the cabin and around the car. At a low air quality level, recirculation is activated. The air quality improvement system cleans the cabin air by filtering it several times through the fine dust filter. The occupants of the car can also view the air quality data determined by the system in the Porsche Communication System Unit (PCM). In addition, the ionizer eliminates a large part of microbes and other pollutants in the air that can cause allergic reactions.
Expanded connectivity across the board
In the new Porsche Cayenne, interactive connectivity has been further improved. A refrigerated smartphone storage space with inductive charging function is included as standard.
Also new are two USB-C ports in the front storage compartment and two more USB-C ports in the rear of the center console. All USB ports provide a fast charging function, but the front ones also connect a smartphone to the Porsche communication system.
To connect the smartphone to the car, the driver must scan the QR displayed on the Porsche communication system unit with the phone. Then there’s a host of other connectivity features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as integrated apps like Spotify and Apple Music.
The new “In-Car Video” function allows you to watch video directly in the Porsche communication system unit – both on the central display when the car is stationary and on the passenger’s display while driving, using the “Screenhits TV” streaming service.
