Modern Warfare 2 will land on consoles and PC on October 28 nextalthough the announcement did not include a detail of the platforms, so it is speculated that it could join the wave of exclusive games of the new generation that are not available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This new Call of Duty has a double responsibility: not only is it the sequel to Modern Warfare, the most successful game in the franchise in years, but it also comes to claim the brand after the critical and sales failure of Call of Duty: Vanguard. , the 2021 game that impacted Activision’s financial projections and was listed as a disappointment by the company.

There are no details about the story or development of the sequel, but the description of the trailer says:

Since last year, reports have been circulating indicating that the game would take place in scenarios inspired by South America, in the midst of a fight against guerrillas and drug groups.. The information says that Infinity Ward is working on the darkest and most realistic game in the series, seeking a level of viscerality and rawness not seen before.
And it seems that we will not have to wait long to confirm the leaks, because in the art presentation trailer, made with a drone that flies over a port area,it looks like a close up of graffiti that says “J.8.22”which would indicate that we will see the official reveal of the game on June 8 of this year, during the week of what would normally be E3.

It is worth noting, however, that if the June date is confirmed (it could be July too) the event will not take place within the framework of the Summer Game Fest presented by Geoff Keighley (on June 9) or the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase of Microsoft (on June 12), so it is speculated that the trailer could debut in a special broadcast from Sony.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is just one of several titles in the saga in development.
