The new Breisgau S-Bahn timetable is expected to be valid until June 13th

New concept applies earlier than originally planned – improvements for commuters

The Breisgau S-Bahn has been operating with a new timetable since Wednesday (April 15, 2020). The revised plan should only take effect after April 19. Due to great criticism of the emergency timetable, which had been in force since March 30, Deutsche Bahn has already adopted the new concept.

Especially in the early morning there were only a few train connections as part of the shortened emergency schedule. Among other things, the problems of commuters who work in the Freiburg University Clinic became particularly public. The railways now launched the newly created timetable a few days earlier, in close coordination with the Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehr AG (SWEG). It is expected to be valid until June 13th.

The changed timetable includes:

Instead of a bus, a train runs from Breisach to Freiburg on weekdays at 5.08 a.m. In the future there will be a train again at 6.15 a.m. Trains from Neustadt to Freiburg leave at 4.52 a.m., 4.59 a.m. and 5.29 a.m. They all stop at the university clinic. At 5 a.m. and 6.03 a.m. buses start at the university clinic and go via the main station to Neustadt. At 11.17 p.m. there is an additional train from Freiburg to Breisach.
