The new BMW M2 is expected to be unveiled to the world in a few days, the premiere is scheduled for 12 October. Thanks to the leaked photos, however, we can now see the car.

Images of the revealed car with blue paint, which appears to be BMW Individual’s Zandvoort Blue, have surfaced on Bimmerpost.com. And the images are interesting, especially thanks to the view of the back. These are extremely interesting.
Apparently, the BMW M2 of the G87 generation will offer an unusually shaped rear bumper with strange elements on the sides that look a bit like the pillars. They also have spotlights. We can also note the diffuser and the four round tailpipes.

However, the front bumper is also remarkably shaped with large openings on the sides and an interesting part under the license plate. The kidneys are also special: this time they are relatively compact, but they have received horizontal ribs. A look at the sides reveals more muscular hips.
The new BMW M2 will probably be the last “emk” with a combustion engine without electric assistance. Under the hood, we expect a turbocharged three-liter straight-six S58 with two turbochargers, power should be around 450 horsepower. It will be possible to choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
There is an unclear situation regarding rear-wheel drive. This may be standard, but there is also speculation about using M xDrive all-wheel drive from larger “emka” models. This all-wheel drive can also function as pure rear-wheel drive. So we’ll see.
The BMW M2 of the G87 generation will go into production at the San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico by the end of the year. The first pieces will arrive at retailers in the spring of 2023.
