The new BioShock is set in the 1960s

We recently saw you informed about the news from the upcoming fourth part of the BioShock series. It is to be subtitled Isolation, taking place in a world divided into two cities, one underground and the other at the top. Journalist Colin Moriarty brought more information during Friday’s video Sacred Symbols. Here he states that according to his sources, the new BioShock will take place in the 1960s. This information was confirmed by other anonymous sources of the magazine VGC.

The alleged bifurcated city is then to be a fictional Antarctic Borealis. “The game is codenamed ‘Parkside’. I was told that the development team has incredible freedom to make it a great game. That seems right to me. Internally, the game is very secret and apparently completely closed. Apparently they tend to understand that this game will be compared to what Ken Levine (the creator of the original BioShock) did, “ stated in Moriarty’s video.

The Cloud Chamber studio has been working on the new part, probably since 2019, when 2K announced that work had begun on the game, and development will take several more years. The director of the design of the new BioShock is Jonathan Pelling, who was involved in the design of the original BioShock, as well as the creative director of Hoaga de la Plante or the art director Scott Sinclair. Ken Levin is not involved in a new game from this universe.

Among other things, job advertisements on the Cloud Chamber website suggest that the new BioShock will be an open world game. But nothing can be said exactly. All that remains is to wait for an official announcement. With any luck, we’ll see the first such announcement at The Game Awards next week.
