The four circles drop the camouflage foils from the successor to the Audi RS 3 and represent all the technical details. We have something to look forward to!

Audi is officially introducing a new, third-generation RS 3 Sportback and RS 3 Saloon (understand hatchback and sedan). “Both models are the gateway to our RS world and, with the Torque Splitter system, offer exceptional nonplusultra performance in the compact segment,” says Sebastian Grams, CEO of Audi Sport, at the presentation of the news.
The jewel of the smallest sports audi is above all supercharged five-cylinder petrol engine with a volume of 2.5 liters, which survived despite uncompromising emission limits for the new generation. It is exactly the engine that won the International Engine of the Year award nine times in a row in the given category! However, buyers will be mainly interested in the parameters: the unit has not boosted, but the highest output of 294 kW (400 hp) is more than sufficient. In addition, it is available from 5600 rpm, while the predecessor was able to reach a maximum of 5800 rpm. It has improved its torque by 20 Nm to 500 newton meters, and the twist is also available in a wide range from 2250 to 5600 rpm. Add to that a brand new engine control unit that ensures even faster connection of individual components and we get a hundred in 3.8 seconds.

The Audi RS 3 can then continue at 250 km / h, but you can optionally move the maximum speed limiter to 280 km / h. And for those who wouldn’t have enough, they will purchase a dynamic package with a maximum of 290 km / h, which also includes ceramic brakes.
The engine works exclusively with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. For the first time, the exhaust system has a completely variable damper control, which allows you to regulate the sound characteristics in an even wider range. In Dynamic and RS Performance modes, the flaps open much earlier, so there’s no risk of overhearing the Audi RS 3 on a district or a racing circuit. But if it doesn’t happen to you at all, you can enhance the acoustics with the optional RS exhaust system.

The novelty is also the first model of the brand to receive the Tourque Splitter system. The module replaces the differential and multi-plate clutch on the rear axle. They are replaced by an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch on the respective drive shaft for each wheel. This ensures optimal torque distribution on the rear axle. In practice, the Torque Splitter increases the transmission of driving force to the outer, more heavily loaded rear wheel, thus significantly suppressing the tendency to understeer. Thanks to this technology, the RS 3 will also be significantly more benevolent to driving sideways.
The standard sports chassis receives newly developed shock absorbers and a valve system. Damping thus responds to the relevant driving situation even faster and more efficiently. On request, an RS plus sports chassis with adaptive shock absorber control is available, which continuously adapts the individual shock absorbers to the road condition and driving situation.

The negative wheel deflection on the front axle is almost one degree greater than the standard Audi A3. The tilting bearings have been modified for this purpose and the rigidity of the bearing of the lower transverse arms, the subframe and the transverse torsional stabilizer has been increased. At the rear we find a four-element construction with separate shock absorbers and coil springs, an auxiliary frame and a tubular transverse torsional stabilizer. Compared to the A3 and S3 models, the stiffer wheel bars absorb greater lateral forces that result from the Torque Splitter. On the rear axle, the negative deflection is almost half a degree greater. Of course, there is also progressive steering and the best driving characteristics are also helped by the ground clearance reduced by twenty-five millimeters compared to the A3.
The RS 3 is distinguished by wide sports bumpers, a newly shaped radiator grille and a distinctive honeycomb grille. As standard, the car is equipped with LED headlights at the front and rear, on request you can get Matrix LED technology with dark interior surfaces. The car is fitted with nineteen-inch light-alloy wheels as standard, and specific painting with Kyalami green and Kemora gray is also reserved for the RS 3. For the first time ever, you can buy a roof in a contrasting black color for a sedan.

Inside, it features a specific sports display on the 12.3 ”digital instrument panel, as well as carbon composite trim on the instrument panel or RS sports seat. On request, you can replace these seats with seats upholstered in soft Nappa leather quilted with a honeycomb pattern RS. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel has a flattened lower part and a marked position of 12 h.
Customers in the Czech Republic can order the new Audi RS 3 from mid-August this year, and the new products will be launched this autumn. The basic price of the RS 3 hatchback is CZK 1,552,900, the sedan costs at least CZK 1,626,900.
