The second generation of the durable Apple Watch Ultra is here. It comes together with the ninth generation of the classic Apple Watch model and, like other new products from Apple, focuses on sustainability and ecology. The 49mm body of the watch is now made of 95% recycled titanium, but the shape remains unchanged. According to Apple, production is carbon neutral.
As with the Apple Watch 9 model, we can look forward to the S9 chip, a UWB chip for localization or improved heart rate measurement. Cooperation with Siri is also common to both watch models, for example to display health data. This feature should be available by the end of the year. The display now has a higher brightness of 3,000 nits compared to the original 2,000 nits.
The chip now contains 5.6 billion transistors, a 60 percent increase over previous generations. The processing of machine learning tasks was also accelerated, up to twice as fast.

The Watch Ultra 2 should last 36 hours of normal operation on a single charge and even 72 hours when the power saving mode is activated. A new double linked thumb and index finger gesture is also coming soon. Thanks to it, it will be possible to receive phone calls or, for example, start a timer while cooking. This news will be part of watchOS 10, which will also bring new widgets, improved functions for cyclists or the face of Modular Ultra.

In terms of durability, we are talking about IP6X certification against dust, and they can handle immersion up to a depth of 100 meters. According to the manufacturer, testing was also carried out according to the MIL-STD 810H military standard. The Czech price is set at 22,990 crowns and sales start on September 22, but you can place your order now. Several strap variants are available: Alpine strap (blue, indigo, olive), Trail strap (orange-beige, green-grey, blue-black) or Ocean strap (blue, orange).
