Samsung sells A, M, S, Z and Note phones in the vast majority of the world. However, since the autumn there is also the F series, which the manufacturer offers only in India and it is not yet clear whether it will remain so and it will be an Indian specialty, or it is just a preparation for penetration into other parts of the world.
Last fall, Samsung introduced the first efko, model F41. Now comes the second model, called the F62, which is much more interesting. It is a device of the lower middle class, in terms of less than 7,000 crowns. The equipment corresponds to this in principle, but we find in it some interesting and not very common elements.
In the context of price and equipment, such a model would not be lost on the Czech market either. From the manufacturer’s portfolio, which is on sale in the Czech Republic, it partially resembles it model M31s, which, however, has worse equipment. At the same time, it costs almost nine thousand crowns in the Czech Republic.
The Samsung F62 has a large SAMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and FHD + resolution. This is a specialty of Samsung, in the given class phones usually have only IPS panels. Another interesting feature is the processor used. Samsung F62 equipped with a chip Exynos 9825. If the label doesn’t tell you anything, it’s a year-and-a-half-year-old processor, but then it was the top of the manufacturer’s offer and we found it, for example, in the Note 10 models.
For the lower middle class, therefore, it is more than a sufficiently powerful chip. It seconds either 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of user memory. Again, completely sufficient parameters.
The battery is extraordinary. It has a capacity of 7,000 mAh, which is really a lot. For example, the article has the same size Samsung M51. There is a 25W quick charge and the manufacturer emphasizes that the charger is included in the sales package.
The phone has a main camera with four lenses, which is standard today in mid-range phones. And its set also meets the standard, so there are two lenses more in number and two important. The main sensor has a resolution of 64 Mpix, the widescreen is 12 megapixel. The remaining two sensors have a resolution of 5 Mpix and one is a macro, the other for depth of field.
It is not entirely clear what the role of the F series is to be performed. The parameters of the phones are very similar to the M series models, after all, the F62 and M51 are very similar devices. In India, they are sold side by side and cost practically the same, the difference is minimal. The novelty probably has a slightly more powerful processor, but this is not a significant difference for the vast majority of customers.
Samsung has recently faced very aggressive Chinese competition, not only in Asia but now in Europe as well. Whether it’s Xiaomi or Realme, or others coming in the form of Viva and Oppa. In the category of top models, they are not yet threatened by Samsung, but in the low-end and middle class they are more than capable competitors.
The Samsung F62 would be a solid rival, but it would have to have an Indian price. As we have said, in India it costs the same as M51, for which, however, Samsung wants CZK 10,500 in the Czech Republic. And that’s too much. In India, the tax is slightly lower, but that is a difference of a few hundred crowns, no more than three thousand.
