Football fans started filling the nets with the enthusiasm of the Qatar World Cup. Kozhikode is aiming for 72,000 goals as part of the One Million campaign announced by the state government. The inauguration of the campaign at the district level was made by Minister Ahmed Devarkovil at the Kothi Ministadium, Nainamvalap. Mantri opened the scoring with an elegant goal on the open post.
72,000 goals will be scored in 72 selected centers. Within the camp, 100 children between the ages of 10 and 12 will receive football training in 72 centers. The training is one hour for ten days. One thousand goals will be scored each in the last 20. Former Santosh Trophy player CK Jayachandran was the main host of the million-goal campaign.
Collector N Tej Lohit Reddy presided over the Nainamvalap inauguration program. Sports Council District President O Rajagopal, Secretary S Sulaiman, Dr. V Roy John, TM Abdurahiman, E Koya, MM Dilna and C Premachandran spoke.
