The nets around former Minister Kaliňák are shrinking

Asked a direct question from the newspaper Sme, whether he is going to go abroad, Kaliňák emphasized that he remains in Slovakia. “Political processes have returned and their victims are politicians. This is how totalitarianism begins. Such a trampling of the law did not take place even during the reign of Vladimír Mečiar, “he said.

The oligarch won contracts from the state for millions of euros

Political scientist Radoslav Štefančík pointed out that no mafia works without a connection to political leaders. “If the police came for the highest-ranking police officers during the reign of Robert Fico, then there are only two Robertos in line – Kaliňák and Fico. Because without them, the police chiefs could not do what the prosecutor’s office accused them of, “Štefančík told tvnoviny.sk.

Lawyer and businessman Robert Kaliňák (49) was born in Bratislava in the family of a sailor and a teacher of Bulgarian nationality
He studied law and after 1989 started a business
In 1999, he was one of the founders of the Direction-Social Democracy party
In the governments of Robert Fico, he served as Minister of the Interior

Kaliňák only admits formal relations with the Nitra oligarch Norbert Bödör. However, during the direction of Smer’s one-color government after 2012, according to investigators, a corruption system arose around subsidies in agriculture, Bödör was supposed to take commissions from them and put a group of police officers into management positions to gain control over case investigations.

Norbert Bödör is the son of Miroslav Bödör, head of the security company Bonul. Under the direction of the company, the company also multiplied sales thanks to government contracts. In 2013 it was almost 26 million euros (688 million crowns) and the following year 36 million euros (953 million crowns).

Norbert Bödör and former senior police officials, led by ex-police chief Tibor Gašpar, ended up in custody. According to the accusations, they exchanged information about the investigation of the cases in secret meetings and then sent them to the Direction, but they also used it to intimidate and blackmail entrepreneurs.

“They systematically accepted bribes, secured benefits in the political struggle and influenced the political situation in order to strengthen their position and power,” added Denník N.

It’s not over yet, Kiska predicts

Former President Andrej Kiska confirmed that he knew about secret conspiracy meetings led by Bödör. “As president, I have had access to different people and different information. The person who told me may say much more. It is clear that the National Criminal Agency has not yet reached the top of the pyramid, “Kiska pointed out on the social network.

“I knew that Gašpar was just Kaliňák’s servant and was run by Fic’s friend Bödör. Instead of protecting people like Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová, they focused on blackmailing and criminalizing the innocent and protecting crooks, “added the ex-president.
