The Netherlands is lending 105 respirators to the Czech Republic

The Netherlands is sending 105 respirators to the Czech Republic, where hospitals are currently dealing with a large number of corona patients. Austria also supplies another 45 machines, which are in addition to the thirty machines that the EU made available to the Eastern European country earlier this week. NATO also supplies sixty respirators to the Czech Republic. The country is currently facing shortages of medical equipment and medical personnel.

The Czech Republic was hit relatively moderately during the first wave of the pandemic, but now has a high number of infections. Last Friday, more than 15,000 new cases were registered for the first time, despite strict corona regulations. For example, mouth masks are already mandatory outside, schools and restaurants are closed and no more than two people are allowed to come together.
