Amsterdam: Pride Walk

Pride broke out in Amsterdam with the Pride Walk, which demonstrates equal rights for everyone. At the beginning of the afternoon, thousands of people walked from Dam Square to Vondelpark. Rotterdam: Summer Carnival

In Rotterdam, the Summer Carnival is in full swing with a parade through the streets of the city, reports Rhine estuary. That is the first time since the summer of 2019. Two editions after that were canceled due to corona.

This time there are no floats. A procession of more than 2,500 dancers, dozens of music groups, DJs and carnival groups will travel the five-kilometer route through the city center.

This year is also a special edition, because for the first time since the first edition in 1984 there is also a king. Previously there was only a queen.

Summer Carnival in Rotterdam again after three years

Friesland runs out again for skûtsjesilen. For two weeks, the old flat-bottomed boats and their crews will measure their strength on the Frisian lakes and puddles. The match started this morning in Grouw. With little wind, reports Omrop Fryslân.

Thousands of people marvel at striking trucks at the Truckstar Festival this weekend. They are set up on the TT Circuit or drive on the race track. The festival is being held for the 40th time.

Tilburg: Tilburg Fair

In the meantime, tomorrow is the last day of the Tilburg fair. Striking there was the salute to ‘air rifle Ria’. Ria van Dijk, as she was called, was a household name at the fair in Tilburg. She was a loyal customer of the shooting gallery for over eighty years, since 1936. Photos of her striking shots were shown at exhibitions at home and abroad.

Last year died Van Dijk at the age of 101. At the shooting gallery at the fair in Tilburg a number of gun salutes for ‘air rifle Ria’ were brought. At the same time, her great-nephew picked up a gun and tried to do as well as his great-aunt. It did not work; he only hit six times.
