The Netherlands announces tightening again. This time it concerns a short, mild lockdown of three weeks. They do this because the virus is “everywhere”, according to outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
–
Strict action must again be taken in the Netherlands, says Rutte. “The pressure on healthcare is extremely high again,” he said. That’s because the virus is “everywhere.” “We have a very unpleasant message tonight with many drastic decisions.”
The new measures will take effect from Saturday at 6 p.m. They are valid until December 4 and will be re-evaluated on December 3. And they include:
-
Keep 1.5 meters away in those places where no corona ticket is required.
-
If no corona ticket is required, a mouth mask obligation applies.
-
Non-essential shops and services such as clothing stores, contact professions such as hairdressers and casinos must close between 6 pm and 6 am.
-
Catering and essential shops, such as supermarket, pet store and drugstore, are open until 8pm. The catering industry is allowed to deliver after 8 p.m.
-
In the catering industry, a corona ticket and a permanent seat are required.
-
Events can take place until 6 p.m. with a corona ticket and a fixed seat. And with a maximum of 1,250 people per room.
-
This mandatory closing time does not apply to art and culture performances in, for example, cinemas, theaters and concert halls.
-
Public sports, both professionals and amateurs, is not allowed. Furthermore, all sports are allowed.
-
The advice to work from home will be tightened to ‘Work at home, unless there is really no other option’.
-
Receive a maximum of 4 guests at home per day aged 13 or older. Even if people are vaccinated.
-
If a housemate is infected, he or she goes into isolation. All other (vaccinated and unvaccinated) housemates must be quarantined.
-
For MBO, HBO and universities, a maximum group size per independent space (excl. staff) of 75 people applies. This does not apply to rooms used for interim and final examinations.
These measures are in addition to the rules that currently apply. Then think of the places where a mouth mask obligation already applies or a corona proof has to be shown.
Rutte also wants an extension of the corona pass. They want to make it legally possible to introduce them in most retail stores and for zoos and amusement parks. In addition, it will also be possible to enter the corona admission ticket in the workplace.
In addition, the Netherlands also wants to make it possible for entrepreneurs to choose to introduce the 3G rule (vaccinated, cured or tested) with a mandatory fixed seat or the 2G rule (vaccinated or cured) without a fixed seat.
