Blood donation employee Cindy Gräbner found great love in Jan Gelfert. She got to know him as a donor in the Dresden World Trade Center.
Dresden – Because of bloodless! Jan Gelfert (36) and Cindy Gräbner (27) had a big boom when the geriatric nurse and the engineer happened to meet while donating blood.

They are now of one heart and one soul – and there will be offspring in four months.
“I noticed it and found it interesting,” says Jan of the first encounter. At that time he was almost weekly at the Haema blood donation service in the World Trade Center for plasma donation.
Cindy works there, “tapped” the donors. “We spoke to each other a lot. What you do, how you spend your free time,” adds Cindy.
And after three months Jan took heart. He invited Cindy to the “Saloppe” summer garden.
“We have been inseparable ever since,” says the Haema employee proudly.

The couple now live together and are looking forward to an exciting future. “The time will come in four months,” says Cindy with a smile. She is pregnant.
It’s going to be a boy, the lovers reveal. The name of the ancestor is still a secret.
The future dad still goes to donate blood regularly. Because even in Corona times, blood and plasma donations are important. Whether for operations or for the production of important drugs, these donations are urgently needed.
Haema is one of the largest blood donation services. In Dresden alone, 125,000 donors have hung on the needle in the two decades since it was founded. This week Haema celebrates its 20th anniversary.
“We are proud of the commitment and reliability of our people,” says CEO Jose Rivero.
And in the case of Cindy and Jan, great love was added to the willingness to help.
