Today is Giving Tuesday the worldwide day of action to do good. Because it is also World AIDS Day, the Netherlands-Batam foundation is asking attention for its HIV teams this year.
The Nederland-Batam Foundation, or Neba for short, has been committed as a recognized charity for 25 years to halting HIV in Indonesia.
Fortunately, HIV can now be regarded as a chronic disease, with which you can live normally with the right medication. But people in remote communities often don’t know that at all. That is why we go there with our HIV teams to provide education, to test for HIV, to provide care and to guide people.
Thanks to our HIV teams, people in remote communities and marginalized groups on Batam Island, and the provinces of Bali, Gorontalo and North Sulawesi are learning how to prevent infection with HIV, what you can do to make sure you get the virus. not pass it on to someone else and what the options are if you have unexpectedly become infected with HIV.
The HIV teams cannot do without support and your help is needed. This can be done by donating, but also by sharing our (social) media messages. But whatever you do, take action for Giving Tuesday!
