Boston will receive its ring of the championship October 22 and the New York Knicks will be there for the celebration.
The NBA announced on Thursday the calendar for the next season and the first scheduled match will be the Celtics hosting the Knicks the first day – in which the champions of the NBA will receive their ring and they will reveal the banner with their 18th title.
The second duel of the opening day will be Minnesota visiting the Los Angeles Lakers at a meeting of Olympic gold medalists Anthony Edwards of the Timberwolves con LeBron James y Anthony Davis.
The league announced 1,200 of the 1,230 matches for the 2024-25 season, the remaining 30 December duels will depend on which teams will contest the NBA Cup. The schedule for that tournament was made on Tuesday.
Other duels that had been previously announced were Miami vs. Washington on November 2 in Mexico City, as well as San Antonio against Indiana in Paris on January 23 and 25.
CHRISTMAS
Victor Wembanyama and San Antonio will visit New Yorkto kick off the five-game Christmas Day slate, followed by Minnesota at Dallas, Philadelphia at Boston, the Lakers at Golden State and Denver at Phoenix.
This will be the first game of Christmas for the Spurs since 2016 and the first of the Timberwolves since 2017.
EVERYONE PLAYS
There will be Four nights this regular season in which all 30 teams will be in actionthe first will be on November 4th — when a new match will start every 15 minutes.
The other dates are February 12, April 11 and April 13 (last day of the campaign).
FREE DAY
For the third consecutive year on election day —Tuesday, November 5—There will be no NBA games as the league says it wants to continue encouraging its fans and the entire NBA community to vote and participate in the civic process.
Another free day is November 28th (Thanksgiving Day)on December 24th (Christmas Eve)from February 17 to 19 (All-Star Game) and April 12.
BACK TO COLLEGE
Kevin Durant could play at least one match in the city where he studied at the University of Texas.
Los Spurs will play two games in Austin, Texas on February 20 against Phoenix and Durant and another on February 21 against Detroit.
LEBRON’S BIRTHDAY
This will be the 22nd season of LeBron James in the NBA and will tie Vince Carter’s record. The day of his 40th birthday — December 30 — will be a day of rest for the Lakers player.
INTUIT DOME OPENS
The first meeting at the Intuit Dome, the new home of Los Angeles Clipperswill be on October 23 with the duel against the Phoenix Suns.
The Clippers have shared the arena with the Lakers from the 1999-2000 season And although it was not uncommon for the teams to play on the same day, now there will be eight dates in which both will play at home.
REMATCH
Boston will visit Dallas on January 25 In the first rematch of the past NBA Finals. Dallas will go to Boston on February 6.
This is the seventh consecutive campaign in which there will be no rematch of the Finals on Christmas Day.
LAST DAY
Los 30 teams will compete on April 13, the final day of the regular season. All games will tip off at 1 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. ET.
FINALES
Game 1 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 5.
If the format of recent years is followed, Game 2 will be on June 8, Game 3 on June 11, Game 4 on June 13, Game 5 on June 16, Game 6 on June 19 and if necessary Game 7 on June 22.
