The NBA In-Season Tournament accounts: what do franchises need to play the direct playoffs?

The previous group stage of the NBA In-Season Tournament comes to an end and the decisive phase of the new championship is approaching.

It is important to remember that the winner of each group and the best second-place finisher in the entire conference, who will enter as a wild-card, will qualify for the quarterfinals. For now, the Indiana Pacers and the Los Angeles Lakers are the only two franchises with a guaranteed spot.

The franchises are beginning to do the math to see which eight teams will compete in the final phase. But, so that you can save yourself that work, we bring you all the calculations done.

ATLANTA get the Wildcard if the following happens:

1) ATL victory + NYK defeat + MIA defeat + BOS defeat + BKN defeat + ATL finishes second in the group and wins the average over any team from another group that finishes second.

BOSTON Group C will win if the following happens:

1) BOS victory + BKN victory and BOS wins the average over ORL and BKN

BOSTON get the Wildcard if one of the following situations occurs:

1) BOS victory + BKN defeat + NYK defeat + MIA defeat + CLE defeat
2) BOS victory, finishes second in the group and wins the average over any second team in another group with a record of 3-1
3) Defeat of CLE + defeat of NYK + defeat of MIA + defeat of BKN + BOS wins the average over any team from another group that comes in second place.

BROOKLYN Group C will win if one of the following happens:

1) BKN victory + BOS defeat
2) BKN victory and average with BOS and ORL

BROOKLYN get the Wildcard if one of the following situations occurs:

1) BKN victory + CLE defeat + NYK defeat + MIA defeat + BKN finishes second in the group
2) Victory for BKN and finishes second in the group and wins the average over any second team in another group with a record of 3-1.

CHARLOTTE get the Wildcard if the following happens:

1) Victory of CHA + defeat of CLE + defeat of MIA + defeat of BOS + defeat of BKN and CHA finishes in second place in the group, winning the average over any second place team from another group.

CLEVELAND get the Wildcard if one of the following situations occurs:

1) CLE victory + NYK defeat + MIA defeat + BOS defeat + BKN defeat
2) CLE victory and victory in average over any team from other groups that comes second with a 3-1 record.

MIAMI Group B will win if one of the following happens:

1) MIA victory + NYK defeat
2) victory for MIA and takes the average with MIL and NYK

MIAMI gets the wildcard if one of the following situations occurs:

1) Victory for MIA + defeat for CLE + defeat for BOS + defeat for BKN + MIA finishes second in the group
2) Victory for MIA, finishes second in the group and wins the average over any second team in another group with a record of 3-1

MILWAUKEE Group B will win if one of the following happens:

1) Victory of the MIL
2) Victory of NYK + MIL wins the average over NYK and MIA

MILWAUKEE gets the Wildcard if one of the following situations occurs

1) NYK defeat + CLE defeat + BOS defeat + BKN defeat
2) MIL finishes second in the group and wins the average over any second team in another group with a record of 3-1

NEW YORK Group B would win if the following happens:

1) NYK victory + MIL defeat + NYK wins the average over MIL and MIA

NEW YORK gets the Wildcard if one of the following situations occurs:

1) NYK victory + MIA defeat + CLE defeat + BOS defeat + BKN defeat
2) Victory for NYK, finishes second in the group and wins the average over any second team in another group with a record of 3-1
3) Defeat of MIA + defeat of CLE + defeat of BOS + defeat of BKN + NYK wins the average over any team in the other group that comes in second place

ORLANDO Group C would win if one of the following happens:

1) Defeat of BKN
2) Victory of BOS and ORL wins the average over BKN and BOS

ORLANDO gets the Wildcard if one of the following situations occurs:

1) Defeat of BOS + defeat of CLE + defeat of NYK + defeat of MIA
2) ORL comes second in the group and wins the average over any team from another group that comes second with a record of 3-1

PHILADELPHIA get the Wildcard if the following happens:

1) CLE loses + NYK loses + MIA loses + BOS loses + BKN loses + PHI finishes second in the group and wins the average over any team from another group that finishes second.
