The National Vaccination Headquarters is suspending its activity, the Council of Ministers decided at its meeting, the press service of the official cabinet announced.
The provision of Art. 45, para. 1 of the Administration Act enables the Minister, in case of need of consultative assistance from external experts for solving problems of his special competence, to create councils as expert advisory units.
In view of this, to support vaccination activities in the country, establishes an advisory council on vaccines by experts with wider expertise and wider public representation to assist the Minister of Health in organizing and conducting vaccinations, preparing public information and communication in order to increase confidence in vaccination and achieve a high vaccination coverage in country, the press release states.
The cabinet also adopted a decree approving additional costs and transfers amounting to BGN 35,000,000 under the budget of the Ministry of Health for 2021
This is necessary due to the extended period of the epidemic emergency until 31 July 2021 and the need to ensure the sustainability of the measure to provide additional remuneration to medical and non-medical staff directly involved in the implementation of activities related to measures to prevent and combat COVID-19.
Providing a monthly additional remuneration for first-line physicians in the amount of BGN 1,000 net is one of the most effective measures taken to deal with the situation with the spread of COVID-19 and a key prerequisite for retaining such a shortage of staff.
