Norway beat Sweden in two Nations League matches and is now the big brother on the football field. The duo behind Sweden’s biggest football podcast, Tutto Balutto, believes the similarities between the national team are striking with the old ski king Petter Northug.

Several times in the latest episode called «Capo Northug» Gusten Dahlin (host of TV4 during the European Championships last year) and Thomas Wilbacher (former journalist at Expressen) draw parallels between Ståle Solbakken’s men and Petter Northug, intended as a tribute. They believe Norway delivers both off and on the field.
– Do you know what Norway has become? Something makes me like it. This Norwegian national football team has become Petter Northug, a bit “kaxiga”, says the duo All Balutto and continues:
– Northug always came to the finish line laughing and pissing on the Swedes.
– There is so much Petter Northug in the Norwegian team.
Norway beat Sweden 2–1 away and 3–2 at home. National team coach Ståle Solbakken and star striker Erling Braut Haaland get their tribute from the Swedish media personalities.
– Steel is verbal in a wonderful way. One is carried away by his “small-cocky” way of being at the press conference, it is said in Tutto Balutto.
Petter Northug is thrilled when VG retells the comparison.
– I love it! And I love the Norwegian team that Ståle Solbakken is building up now. I am moved when I watch international matches where we beat Sweden both away and at home. I go to bed with a smile on my face at night, says Northug.
Northug found his way down to the inner court after the international match against Sweden last Sunday at work for TV 2. There he knelt for Haaland.
Asked if he will follow the national team closely in the future, Northug says the following:
– Yes, and I have contact with some of them. It is very fun to see the team we have going on now. It is so young, powerful and has an x-factor with Braut. But there is a lot of quality around him as well. It will be exciting to follow in the future. We can get back a very good Norwegian football era again. We can only hope – I have great faith, says Northug.
Gusten Dahlin and Thomas Wilbacher express skepticism about Sweden’s national team and the generational change they are in.
– We need a separate podcast to talk about youth football. There is something we are not doing right.
