While the Grand Guild is undergoing its renovation, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra has found a home in its music house “Daile” for its chamber music cycle. The first concert with cellist Dace Zālīte-Zilberte, violinist Indulis Cintiņš and pianist Mārtiņš Zilberts has already taken place here. A long-cherished dream has finally come true – with spectators at the tables, a cup of smoky coffee and a sparkling glass of wine… The idea that chamber music could be played in “Daile” was launched two years ago, when a concert “Churlonis and Jazz”.
Anda Zadovska, the director of the Daile Music House, does not hide: “It could have a good future because we, the Daile House, have had their own audience for almost 10 years now. “
LNSO director Indra Lukina is also convinced of this: “In any case, the place is very suitable and nice. that you are a participant in the process, being a spectator and a listener in the hall. “
Although the program was called “Vienna Café”, the musicians offered to enjoy not only the traditional Viennese coffee, the taste of which could be heard in the sparkling piano of the Viennese classic Haydn or Viennese violinist virtuoso Frich Kreisler, but also real American – Composer Paul Schönfeldt’s piece “Cafe Music” took the audience to a restaurant in Minneapolis, where the author himself once replaced the pianist – then the idea arose to compose a piece that would transfer the atmosphere of the restaurant to the concert stage.
The “Little Rock Music” composed by Imants Zemzars in 1976, in which you can hear the influence of cabaret, rock music and jazz, took you into the atmosphere of a rock café.
But while the doors of the Grand Guild are closed, the music house “Daile” will be open to creative expressions of chamber music until the end of the season.
