Police General of the third rank Mikhail Kuznetsov became the first deputy chairman of the NPU – the head of the criminal police. He has been working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for more than 20 years, before his appointment he was the head of the department of operational and technical measures of the National Police. Kuznetsov also took part in the anti-terrorist operation in Donbass.
In his previous position, he was involved in solving grave and especially grave crimes, including crimes against national security, the ministry stressed.
The Department of Strategic Investigations was headed by Colonel Valentin Kopaev.
