On the occasion of the National Infantry Days (JNI), soldiers and industrialists meet at the mother house of the infantry: the military schools of Draguignan.
This year, the event started on Wednesday and continues on Thursday. Its main theme: differentiation.
A problem related to a recent decision of the Chief of Staff of the Army, which leads to a reorganization of the squads.
“The idea is to differentiate the three brigades according to their main vehicle “, explains Colonel Frédéric (1), responsible for organizing NYIs.
“The combined arms brigades are therefore now on VBCIs (armored infantry fighting vehicles), the medians have the Griffins (multirole armored vehicles) and the light ones are with the Serval (vehicles related to the Army’s equipment program, called Scorpion). “
“Industrialists exhibit their novelties”

Thus, during these two days, the theme of differentiation is approached, “to see what are the complementarities between these three brigades”.
Other issues affecting the French infantry and its allies are also put on the table.
At the same time, around sixty manufacturers present equipment that can be used by the army. They are divided into four poles: simulation, engaged systems (such as drones and robots), infantry equipment, and vehicles.
“Businesses are used to coming to NYIs“, concludes Colonel Frédéric.”They showcase their novelties and what they plan to offer in the years to come. “
