The national gendarmerie presents the first copy of the “Centaur”, its new armored vehicle, at the Eurosatory exhibition, from June 13 to 17, 2022. Equipped with a gunfire detector, a grenade launcher and a machine gun, this steel blue machine is intended to be engaged “in all crises” where the gendarmerie intervenes, whether it is external operations, public order or the fight against terrorism, explains Lieutenant-Colonel Alban Delalonde, project manager at the DGGN. Manufactured by Soframe, 90 vehicles must be delivered by 2024 at a cost of nearly €70 million.
