The National Broadcasting Council announced the amount of the radio and television license fee that will have to be paid in 2024. At the same time, we also learned about the list of people entitled to exemption from paying the radio and television license fee.

TV license fee is a fee that applies to many households in our country.

The basis for its calculation is the possession of at least one radio or television receiver. Institutions such as schools, nurseries, sanatoriums and social welfare homes are also obliged to pay a subscription fee.

Important information is the fact that having additional pay TV packages does not exempt us from the fee.

Therefore, subscribers of cable and satellite operators’ services, as well as VOD platforms with live channels, are also obliged to pay an RTV license fee.

The National Broadcasting Council has just published the subscription rate for 2024.

In the case of a radio receiver, it amounts to PLN 8.70 per month and PLN 104.40 per year. The fee for using a television and radio set is PLN 27.30 per month or PLN 327.60 per year.

It is worth mentioning that if we pay the RTV license fee by January 25, 2024, we can get a 10% discount.

The monthly subscription fee is to be paid by the 25th day of each month.

Who is exempt from paying the RTV license fee?

The National Broadcasting Council also published a long list of people who are exempt from paying the RTV license fee. These are:

people unable to work; people over 75 years of age; the unemployed; persons entitled to pre-retirement benefits; persons who are entitled to receive cash benefits; persons meeting the income criteria specified in the Act of November 28, 2003 on family benefits; people over 60 years of age who are entitled to a pension; people with disability group I; blind people (visual acuity below 15%); deaf people; people receiving care benefits or care allowance; persons with permanent or temporary total incapacity to work on a farm; war veterans and family members; people with significant disabilities; war and military invalids and family members; people entitled to pre-retirement benefits; veterans with injured status; family members of persons receiving a disability pension until their death; people with disabilities due to employment.
