The Francisco Torrecillas National Art Festival hosted this weekend the presentation from the winning collection of poems in 2021. ‘Si la vida pretendes’, by the Majorcan, Daniel Martínez Bauzá.
The author’s work can be found in the Municipal Library of Albox, Poet Juan Berbel. From the City Council they have thanked the publishing house Difácil, from Valladolid and César Sanz, who have made the publication of this collection of poems possible.
In the author’s presentation 2021 winner, have counted on the presence of José Antonio Canteras, natural watercolor painter from Cuevas del Almanzora and illustrator of the reissue of ‘Cuentos del Almanzora’ by Martín García Ramos. Edition that was presented at the gala and is now also available in bookstores and libraries.
This gala also had the presence of an illustrious person in national literature, Jon Juaristi. That in addition to being a writer, he has been the president of the Jury for this award for 20 years.
From the Consistory of Albojense they have especially grateful to the García Ramos family, for collaborating with this award, since in this year’s edition the family presented the reissue of a fundamental work for Almería by the author Martín García Ramos. ‘Cuentos del Almanzora’, which the teacher, writer and poet from Arboleas, one of the region’s most illustrious sons, brought to light in 1987, in an edition that had been out of print for many years and which has been released again this year at the National Art Festival.
Tales of the Almanzora is a emotional and sentimental testimony of a timeand of a social order that future generations will be able to learn about only through works like this one, in which the author also offers, in a premonitory way, his concern for climate change (in the stories ‘La riada’ and ‘La golosa’ ) or by the arrival of new technologies (‘The age of paper’).
Las upcoming cultural events of the Francisco Torrecillas de Albox National Art Festival 2022. They are on April 30, with the celebration of the National Declamation Contest and on May 7, which will take place the International Lied and Concert Song Contest.
