The Nation / Deputies request that only two doses of the anti-COVID vaccine be required to enter Paraguay

The Chamber of Deputies issued a statement to urge the Ministry of Public Health and the General Directorate of Migration to relax the health requirements for entering the national territory. Deputy Fernando Oreggioni presented the proposal that only two doses of the anti-COVID vaccine be required for foreigners.

This initiative was promoted by Oreggioni in conjunction with deputy Jorge Brítez and was approved by the plenary of the Lower House during the space of the motions for treatment on tables of the last plenary session, without objections.

The complete vaccination scheme against COVID-19 is currently in force; which would be two doses plus a booster. This current requirement affects land transit as well as commerce, according to the deputy; For this reason, he requests that the requirement be only two doses for entry to Paraguay.

“We urge you to modify the entry protocol mainly for Argentines and Brazilians, since they are demanding the three doses and we know that the third application is being done very slowly in Latin America,” said parliamentarian Oreggioni.

In this sense, he reiterated that the requirement of the third dose constitutes an obstacle to reactivate the economy of border businesses, which were seriously affected by sanitary restrictions. For this reason, they hope that the initiative can be considered by the health authorities, since it could be affecting the development of foreign operations in the country.
