The Pfizer Paraguay brand received the corresponding sanitary registration from the National Directorate of Sanitary Surveillance (Dinavisa) of the Ministry of Public Health, in order to specify the importation of vaccines from the aforementioned platform from the United States. However, the license is limited to its use for the sanitary portfolio and not for its commercialization at the local level.
This was stated by Dr. María Antonieta Gamarra, head of the aforementioned health agency, in a telephone interview she had with radio station R 800 AM.
“Pfizer Paraguay submitted an application for a sanitary registration approximately a month ago. Pricing is a prerequisite for that point. As we have direct contracts with Pfizer Global, they did this as if to give it a little more seriousness about possible commercialization ”, said the professional.
In that sense, the official revealed that the current methodology for weekly shipments of Pfizer vaccines will be maintained for the time being, in the context of the doses purchased by the National Government from the US laboratory.
On the other hand, Gamarra revealed that at the time they already tried to negotiate Pfizer vaccines, but that only now the regulations of the Vaccine Law allow, as well as to achieve their corresponding sanitary registration.
