Kalianda (Lampost.co) — Five Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of Puskesmas in Natar Subdistrict, South Lampung carry out fogging in their respective areas. This was done after the discovery of new cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

Head of the UPT Puskesmas Hajimena Nessi Yunita said that apart from checking people’s homes to ensure the cleanliness of the environment, his party also carried out fogging to suppress dengue cases, there were no additions in the work area of the puskesmas.

“At the beginning of the year, there were six cases. We checked people’s homes and it turned out that there were still a lot of used items left unattended. Even though these used items have the potential to become a breeding ground for mosquitoes,” he said, Friday, January 14, 2022.

After an appeal was made to residents to continue to maintain the cleanliness of the environment, the team immediately carried out fogging.

“This fogging was carried out because cases were found, actually fogging does not kill larvae but kills adult mosquitoes, so we ask residents to destroy used goods that have the potential to breed mosquitoes,” he said.

Fogging was also carried out in other areas such as in the citerep hamlet, Merakbatin village, this was done to anticipate the spread of dengue cases in the area.

Separately, the Tanjungsari Health Center has also carried out fogging in Bumisari Village because there were cases of DHF.

“From the results of checking a lot of used goods, we found that there were many mosquito larvae, we asked the residents to destroy the goods so that there would be no new cases,” said Head of UPT Tanjungsari, Evi Marlina.

Used goods found where mosquitoes breed, such as used car tires filled with rainwater, in the used tires there were many mosquito larvae found. “There are a lot of used car tires filled with rainwater filled with mosquito larvae, at this location we do fogging in the hope that there will be no new cases of DHF,” he said.
