Member of Commission VII DPR from NasDem factionRudi Hartono Bangun threatened to report the Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Laksana Tri Handoko regarding allegations of budget abuse in his institution to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
This statement was made by Rudi in the DPR’s Commission VII meeting with BRIN at the parliament complex, Monday (31/1). He said Laksana had committed a lot of budget abuse for several programs at BRIN.
“You eat too much by yourself. Later you will get caught later, if there is something bad we will do, we will encourage you, we will demonstrate you in front of the KPK, you will enter. This regime is okay, you will survive, the future regime is not certain,” said Rudi, pointing his hand .
Rudi initially questioned BRIN’s use of the budget, which he considered unreasonable. One of them highlighted the budget allocation for activities for the leadership and members of Commission VII with details of 25 activities until August 2023.
He questioned the urgency of the activity. What is the proper nomenclature of the activity. According to him, the activity was inappropriate and overlapped with the activities of Commission VII.
According to him, this activity has been carried out by the Secretariat General of the DPR. He considered that the activities carried out by BRIN overlapped.
“If it is examined by the BPK, this overlaps sir. You should make a kind of EO sir. You auction it off to a third party. Then hand it over to a member, you want to take half of it from Rp. 100-200 million, half of which will be handed over to the member’s clear EO, ” he said.
“This is Mr. manipulation with the members below. You wrote down this procurement, a budget of Rp. 300 million. This is what I suspect is called manipulation and corruption,” added Rudi.
The meeting later urged the government to immediately replace Laksana Tri Handoko as Head of National Agency for Research and Innovation. The meeting also recommended that a special audit be carried out on the use of the 2022 BRIN budget by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
“Commission VII of the DPR urges the government to immediately replace the Head of BRIN considering the various problems of BRIN that have not been resolved,” quoted the conclusion of the meeting.
