The founder of supermarket chains Lidl and Kaufland Dieter Schwarz topped the ranking of the richest people in Germany according to the publication World on Sunday.The fortune of Schwartz, who founded the successful Kaufland retail chain and the Lidl discounter chain, is estimated at 41.8 billion euros. The Schwarz Group, with a turnover of € 113.3 billion, is also Germany’s largest family-owned company, followed by the Ryman family with stakes in Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Coty and a net worth of € 21.45 billion. Wolfgang Porsche’s family with a fortune of 20 billion euros. The publication notes that the fortune of 1000 of the richest families in Germany totals 1.1 trillion euros.
