The senior social residence of Le Petit Desire, located at 9 avenue de Bayonne, in place of the former and famous dance hall which bore this name, has now been completed. The last component of this project, led by the Office 64 for habitat, is now operational. It is an application restaurant intended to offer daily meals to residents. It was created by the agency of the Basque Country of Greta-CFA d’Aquitaine, for the benefit of young people in apprenticeship of adults in professional retraining or employees within the framework of continuing education.
This restaurant of Le Petit Desire, called “Nahia Ttipia” completes the training offer in the hotel and catering sector made by the Greta, in addition to the application restaurant “Herri Eder” open for more than twenty years. years at the Lachepaillet site in Bayonne. Greta trainees will begin their training in Bayonne and will now complete it at Le Petit Desire.
Agreement with the Greta
To launch this new application restaurant, which will open its doors at the end of January 2021, the only thing missing was the signing of an agreement between the Greta, represented by Gérard Monpays, director of the Basque Country agency and the Habitat Office 64, represented by its president Claude Olive. A signature on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in the presence of representatives of the various organizations and institutions concerned.
The teaching team which trains Greta interns is made up of trainers from complementary backgrounds. Some are teachers at the École hôtelière de Biarritz, others come from the profession and hold adult trainer diplomas.
Trainees in training
The restaurant will be open to the public, in the brasserie register, but will offer special services to residents of Le Petit Desire, who will be able to take or order their meals there. A kitchen has been fitted out to allow trainees, under the guidance of trainers, to prepare the dishes.
Claude Olive, president of the Office 64 of housing and mayor of Anglet, has thus completed a project that he had placed among the most important of his previous term. As mayor, he had made the former dancing grounds available to Housing Office 64. It was primarily a matter of making an offer of 34 social housing units specially designed for the reception of seniors wishing to stay close to their usual places of residence, in the Saint-Jean district, a stone’s throw from the town hall, many health and commercial services and public transportation.
The apartments are equipped with a complete home automation system as well as technical solutions promoting the comfort and safety of the elderly and their support in the evolution of their state of health. The whole has a convivial room to allow residents to meet. Two businesses must also be set up on the ground floor. One person performs full-time concierge, support and animation missions.
