On June 9, from 14:00 to 19:00, an open day will be organized in the park of the Culture Palace “Ziemeļblāzma” as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Military Police.
Anyone interested is invited to get acquainted in person with the transport, equipment and facilities of the NAF Military Police, as well as with the specialized high-traffic equipment available to the military police of the Allied countries, such as “VAMTAC 6”, “MOWAG EAGLE IV”, etc.
The Open Day will be attended by military police officers from Denmark, Canada, Spain and Slovenia with the equipment at their disposal. The military police of these countries are currently stationed in the territory of Latvia, performing various training tasks and exercises together with other units of the Allied Forces and the National Armed Forces.
Visitors to the Open Day will have the opportunity to practice and get acquainted with certain components of the equipment, take a closer look at the weapons and various special equipment in the armament of the Military Police. The event will also be attended by four-legged friends serving in the Military Police Units, and small surprises await small visitors.
For the residents of Latvia and other countries, the military police most often associate them with specially stenciled cars, which accompany important military delegations or columns of military equipment with the red and blue beacons on. However, in addition to escorting functions, the Military Police perform many other tasks in peacetime and in various crisis situations, and these tasks require specialized transport, equipment and facilities.
