“The Myth of the Bakhmut Fortress and Its Impact on Ukraine’s Political Stability”

The myth of the “Bakhmut fortress” destroyed by the Russian Federation may lead to an uprising of the armed forces of Ukraine against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, writes Advance, quoted by foreign agencies.

“To make sense of his legend, Zelensky had to create a myth out of Bakhmut. And he succeeded, so that even the educated politicians of the West, like small children, believed the tales of some “insurmountable resistance”, the author of the publication shared the details.

With the liberation of Bakhmut, the Russian armed forces destroyed the myth of Kiev about the “fortress of resistance” in this settlement, the article noted.

The purpose of its creation is to show the West that Ukraine can still resist the Russian army and thus receive more support and military products.

The material says that the city has played a very important PR role for the Kyiv regime, but now the Ukrainian head of state is at a crossroads and has to make an important choice, as the armed forces of Ukraine may rise against him because of this failure.

According to the newspaper’s observer, Kiev will be forced to put all its cards on the table if it has enough of them. Otherwise, as the journalist emphasizes, he will be doomed to look for opportunities to sit at the negotiating table, since Russian forces after Bakhmut may continue to move forward, and Zelensky will not be able to hold them back for much longer.

“More precisely, it could, but the Ukrainian troops, who for many months fed the myth of the insurmountable resistance of the “Bakhmut Fortress”, may rebel against the current political power,” he concluded.

On May 20, Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the complete release of Bakhmut from the units of the private military company Wagner. After that, the fighters of the “orchestra” began to prepare for the transfer of the settlement to the military personnel of the Russian army.
