Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Earth’s core at the bottom of the Banda sea is tilted. The researchers finally found the cause of the phenomenon.
One reason is that the dense iron core in the center of the planet is growing faster. In addition, the iron core under Indonesia is said to lose heat faster than other regions such as Brazil, which makes the cooling process faster due to the crystallization of the iron that makes up the core.
In fact, this incident has been happening for a long time, namely since 500 years ago. But it is not known why the process is so fast.

“The only way we can explain is that one side is growing faster than the other,” said study lead author Daniel Frost, a seismologist at the University of California, Berkeley.
The discovery of the tilt of the Earth’s core occurred when researchers at the University of California Seismologists studied seismic waves. For information this is an underground vibration from an earthquake passing from a solid iron core.
The core is 3,000 kilometers below the Earth’s surface. The part contains iron and nickel.
The researchers also revealed that iron crystallization was skewed towards the west, namely the Banda Sea due to asymmetrical growth. It’s 60% higher in the west and says growth is by no means unbalanced.
Furthermore, Frost said there is still one more mystery that needs to be solved. “The question is, does this change the strength of the magnetic field?” he said.
