Queenara through blue moon, private papers, 0/30/23
Like someone who feels that the moon is following me, I hope you remember someone who let you go early in the morning with a kiss on the cheek (mother’s poem).
Wednesday night, 30/08/2023 coincided with the OSN (National Saint Olympiad) at SMAN 7 Bogor, and the emergence blue moon. Queenara, and students of SMAN 7 Bogor looked at the blue moon in the Bogor sky. Actually, the blue moon can be seen with the naked eye, but binoculars are needed to capture it in photos or videos.
Blue moon does not describe a blue moon, NASA (Nasional Aeronautics and Space Administration) said a blue moon occurs when the full moon occurs twice a month. This blue moon or supermoon occurs because the moon’s position is lower than Earth, so it looks bigger and brighter. This happens because the moon’s orbit around the Earth is not perfect. A supermoon is 30% brighter, and 14% larger than a regular full moon. This event occurs because Saturn is next to the Sun, when viewed with binoculars from Earth.
The Story Behind the Asteroids
photo-info">Mrs. Endang, astronomer from ITB, dokpri
Mrs. Endang, an astronomer from ITB explained a little about asteroids. He said, asteroids are debris from the formation of the solar system. Earth and other planets evolve from fetuses, babies, adults, and become extinct, but the conditions for asteroids from start to finish remain the same.
Asteroids can collide with asteroids, the good news is that Earth is protected by the atmosphere. Earth never collides with the Moon, Sun, Planets and stars, just like the women passing by at Pasar Anyar never collide.
Asteroids that hit Earth can cause local disasters, such as volcanic eruptions, loss of sunlight two days for example the eruption of Mount Galunggung, firestorms, acid rain, tsunamis, etc.
Asteroids that hit the earth in the form of rocks along 75 km, equal to the attack of 1,000 atomic bombs. The city of Hirosima, Japan, which was hit by an atomic bomb on August 6, 1945, could be destroyed and killed more than 246,000 people. So what if 1,000 atomic bombs? Glory be to Allah who protects the Earth from the fall of asteroid fragments through the atmosphere.
Mrs. Endang also told me that in order to become an astronomer, you need to like physics, mathematics, and chemistry. You can find interesting programs with the theme of observing the moon and planets on Instagram @planetarium Jakarta. Enjoy the beautiful blue moon.
