The Mystery of Jokowi’s Spokesperson

A total of 17 Indonesian ambassadors for a number of countries were appointed President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) yesterday, one of them was Fadjroel Rachman–the spokesman for the RI-1. After the inauguration, one mystery remains.

Jokowi inaugurated 17 Indonesian ambassadors at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday (25/10/2021). The activity was held by establishing strict health protocols.

The inauguration ceremony began by singing the song Indonesia Raya. The activity was then continued with the reading of the decision letter followed by the reading of the oath of appointment.

“For God’s sake I swear/For God’s sake I promise. That I to be appointed extraordinary ambassador and full power (LBBP) will be loyal to the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945 and will carry out all laws and regulations straightforwardly for the sake of Dharma Bakti I am to the nation and the country, “said a quote from the oath of office read by Jokowi and followed by the appointed officials.

Fadjroel Rachman, spokesman for the President, was sworn in as Ambassador of Kazakhstan. With the inauguration of Fadjroel, the position of spokesman for President Jokowi is vacant.

Until now, the fate of Jokowi’s spokesman is not known for sure after Fadjroel is confirmed to be serving abroad. Jokowi’s directives are still nil.

“Until now there has been no directive from the President. In addition, at the palace there are already Ministers of State Secretary, Cabinet Secretary, and KSP,” said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media Bey Machmudin to reporters, Monday (25/10).

Fadjroel was once asked by AFP about this and he said that the decision regarding the appointment of a spokesman was the right of President Jokowi. Fadjroel believes that Jokowi has prepared the best.

“The president must have arranged the best plan to help him,” said Fadjroel, Friday (22/10).
