Since then, the mysterious part that no one wants to name (it’s for that 20 Minutes has devoted itself to) serves as the main suspect in the breakdown hitting the new Rennes metro line.
Inaugurated in September 2022, the second line was the scene of a fire in November, which led to a month of downtime. After a few short weeks of recovery, traffic suddenly stopped on January 3 following further emergency braking. A normal procedure for securing the train due to a fault. But which one? Assailed with questions, the Siemens Mobility company ended up recognizing that a piece of metal “as big as a hand” was showing abnormal wear and that it was going to change them all “as a precaution”.
